We live in a global world where we interact on so many levels and I am dedicated to ensuring everyone feels included and has equity in professional spaces. As Howard Thurman said "Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive and do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive." For me, actively listening to the needs of people and formulating and implementing initiatives, policies, and strategies with a diverse, equitable, inclusive, and belonging approach is how I come alive.
With over 10 years of experience engaging successfully across diverse teams and identifying needs to address the success of organizations, I am passionate about developing institutional change that leads to an inclusive environment and culture. I lead innovative strategy development for DEI Centers in higher education that influence DEI efforts in policies and programming that affect students, faculty, and staff. I serve as a visionary expert for business units to advise systematic change and impact by facilitating opportunities to celebrate differences through effective and responsive training programs, search committee training, and bias workshops, building community and stakeholder relations through innovative and creative programming and improving the staff experience through the creation of affinity groups.
A native of Waco, Texas, and a graduate of Texas State University and Emory University - Candler School of Theology, I advocate being a lifelong learner and always exploring new adventures. I reside in the D(M)V area working in higher education. I am an avid traveler, food connoisseur, and book lover! I am excited to share my love of literacy and inclusion with everyone.
